Raymond Joseph
Trepanier
February 29, 1944 – March 22, 2025
Raymond Joseph Trepanier, 81, of Flowood, MS passed away peacefully at home, on March 22, 2025.
Raymond was born in Waterbury, CT. He joined the Marine Corp in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1965. He then moved to NYC where he met his wife. They both worked in NYC, and they later moved to Upstate New York, where he had friends and made many more.
During his 27 years in Tillson he served on the Volunteer Fire Dept and was a member of the American Legion. Raymond drove for Yellow Freight and then for Leaseway Corporation where he delivered new cars. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 469 and 707. He loved driving up and down the East Coast, meeting new people and sharing his stories from the road. Ray was forced to retire due to a shoulder injury which brought him to Flowood, to be near his grandchildren.
In Flowood, Ray joined St Paul Catholic Church where he became a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also joined the Marine Corp League and worked on Toys for Tots for several years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Vietnam Veterans of America, Post 1057 in Brandon. Ray enjoyed volunteering at the Veterans Hospital taking clients to their appointments. He enjoyed traveling with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary; his children, Robert and Michelle (Trevor); his grandchildren, Mary Kate, Gracie, Zaidyn, Kayla (Bryan), Britnee (Michael), and Taylor (Zachary); as well as his two great-grandchildren, Brayson and Luna; his brother Paul (Lorrie) and his nephews, Paul Jr, Michael (Kathy), John (Ivey) and Ryan and his niece, Pamela (Christian) and many great nephews and nieces.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Teresa, and his grandson, Keith Jornov.
Raymond will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will be remembered for the stories he told, his sense of humor, and his willingness to always help others.
Visitation will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans Association, Chapter 1057 (Attn: President 104 Sunrise Ridge. Brandon MS 39047); or the Parkinson's Foundation, which can be found at www.parkinsons.org
