Rayburn B. Wright (Ray), 69, of Bolton, passed away June 6, 2019. Ray was born March 5, 1950 to Rayburn C. and Mary Katherine (Bergin) Wright in Meridian, MS. As the child of an Air Force pilot, he moved around to many places including Kansas City, MO, Newfoundland, Canada, Texarkana, AR, and El Paso, TX. The family finally settled in Jackson, MS. He graduated in 1968 from Forest Hill High School and attended Mississippi College. He played football for Mississippi College and was member of the M club. He graduated Mississippi College in 1973.
Ray married Janet Rice in Bentonia, MS. They spent the next 15 years overseas working with Haliburton Energy Services. They lived in such places as Nigeria, England, Scotland, Norway, and Abu Dhabi. After returning to the United States in 1987 with their two daughters, they first settled in Meridian, MS and then in Clinton in 1994 and finally Bolton in 2000.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Janet, his daughters Katy (Nick) Breaux, Jennifer (David) Landers, grandchildren Ethan (13), Maddy (11) and Abigayle (8), and sister Sharon (Charles) Noone.
A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Madison, MS on Saturday June 15, 2019 at 11 am. Visitation will be 10 am to 11 am at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
