Obituary

Billy Randall Sellers, 79, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Baptist Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  Visitation will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 4-7pm at Wright & Ferguson in Raymond, MS, and June 23, 2025, from 10-11am at Hinds Independent Methodist Church in Raymond followed by a service at 11am.

Randy was born in Collins, MS on January 7, 1946. He graduated from Raymond High School and worked in manufacturing for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed working a few days a week for Chick-fil-A in Clinton.

Randy loved all things outdoors, but he especially enjoyed fishing. Give him a buddy and a boat, and he was happy.  Many memories were made on the water with his brother Brad, nephew Bill, and later with his grandchildren Timothy, Chase, Noah, and Kathryn.  Even if the fish weren't biting, it was always worth the drive.  It was the people that counted.

Randy's love for Jesus was reflected in all aspects of his life.  Morning and evening you would find him in the Word of God, and he could be found in Sunday school and the morning worship service at church every week.

If achievement can be measured by how deeply one is loved or how much one invests in the lives of others, then Randy Sellers had reached the pinnacle of success.  Investing in his family was his favorite pastime.  In an age where people are often disengaged, Randy was present.  He never missed a high school sporting event, a graduation, a weekly visit with his sister Kathryn, or an opportunity to support those he loved.  His love for others was evidenced by his involvement with the Billy Brumfield Shelter.  He left his family a legacy of faith and faithfulness. He showed them how to love well.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Wanzie Sellers; his brothers, Jimmy Sellers and Brad Sellers; and his nephew Bill Sellers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Sellers; daughters, Diana Hutchins (Clete), Regina Pyron (David), and Pamela Jackson (Daniel); sister, Kathryn Gore (Gerald); sister-in-law, Dolores Sellers; niece, Lisa (J) Wadsworth ; grandchildren, Timothy Jackson (Alayna), Noah Jackson, Kathryn Jackson, Chase Pyron (Madison), Caroline Pyron, Georganna Hutchins; four great-grandchildren, Archie Jackson, Paisley Jackson, Wrenley Pyron, and Lainey Pyron; nieces, nephew, numerous cousins, and many friends.

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."  Psalm 23:6

"He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces..." Isaiah 25:8

Until eternity, when we will all gather together again.  But for now, Brad and Bill are saving a seat in the boat for you.
