Rachael Carolyn Watson McGahey, 86, passed away at her home on September 19, 2023.

Rachael was born May 15, 1937 to her parents, Charles and June Griffin Watson in Byram, MS. She attended Central High and Forest Hill High School. She was an administrative secretary for many years at the Department of Agriculture in Mississippi until her retirement. She was a beloved mother who enjoyed working in her garden, cutting grass, reading and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl McGahey, Sr.; her brother, David Watson; and beloved friend, Mary Frances Durrett.

Rachael is survived by her son, John Earl McGahey, Jr.; her daughter, June McGahey (Beth Atwell); her sister, Billie June Hollingsworth; her fur babies, Dottie and Lil Max; and numerous nieces and nephews.
