Phillip Carlton Frazier, 60, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Hospice
Ministries in Ridgeland, MS, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Visitation for Mr. Frazier is scheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2015, from
2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and on Monday, March 23, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., at
Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, 106 Cynthia Street, Clinton, MS, with
the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. Dr. D. Alan Hawkins, Pastor
of New Life City Church in Albuquerque, N.M., will conduct the service.
Dr. Hawkins is a life-long friend to Mr. Frazier. Burial will follow at
Lakewood South in Jackson, MS.
Born in Jackson, MS on June 17, 1954, Mr. Frazier was reared in Clinton
and graduated from Clinton High School in 1972. He also attended Hinds
Junior College. Mr. Frazier was a gifted athlete who excelled in
football, basketball, baseball, and track. He was referred to by many
as "The Natural". He was selected to play on the MS High School All
Star football team, and also attended a training camp with the New
Orleans Saints. A knee injury ended this dream. Mr. Frazier loved life
and laughter, his daughters, his family and friends, his treasured
friendships with his CHS classmates, and his Clinton Arrow teammates.
Mr. Frazier was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Carlton Frazier
and Evelyn Felts Frazier of Clinton. He is survived by his daughters,
Bethany Frazier and A.J. Frazier, both of Jackson, MS, his sister,
Cheryl Frazier Lyon of Starkville, MS, his brother, Eric Frazier of
Pelahatchie, MS, his ex-wife, Janice Virden of Jackson, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family would like to thank Sean Flynn, Mr. Frazier's friend from childhood, for his faithful friendship and loving care of Phil during his illness.
