Paula Patrice Summers

Paula Patrice Summers, 81, passed away on August 26, 2026. She was born July 3, 1945, in Berwyn, Illinois.

Paula graduated from Morton High School in Cicero, Illinois. She earned an associate degree in respiratory therapy and graduated first in her class.

Paula lived a very colorful and adventurous life. She loved her job as a respiratory therapist at the University Hospital where she worked for over 20 years. She especially felt a connection to the cystic fibrosis children that she helped. She loved her patients and greatly respected each of their lives.

Paula loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Most importantly, she loved the Lord, and she prayed diligently for her family members, friends and people that she met. She had a very tender heart for animals and contributed to many animal rescue groups.

There is no doubt that Paula is with the Lord and many loved ones in heaven.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and A. D. Summers.

She is survived by her brother, Alan Summers (Maxine) of Bryson City, North Carolina; her sister, Renee Akers (Mark) of Raymond, Mississippi; her nephew, Steve Summers of Brandon, Mississippi; her niece, Sherra Swanner (Scott) of Brandon, Mississippi; three great nieces and three great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. before the service. A graveside service will follow at Raymond Cemetery.
