Paula
Joyner
July 9, 1954 – November 5, 2022
Paula Milam Joyner, 68, passed away at her home in Brandon Saturday, November 5, 2022. A Celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Paula was born in Memphis, TN in July 1954, daughter of the late Paul B. Milam, Jr., and Viola Hobson Milam Ellis.
Paula was very artistic and naturally gifted in making things with her hands. She made anything from handmade Christmas wreaths to stained glass. She put herself through school to become a certified paralegal and enjoyed her career. Paula loved her cats but mostly she loved people. She was an avid entertainer, always hosting events for family and friends. Paula never met a stranger but on the off chance that she did they weren't strangers long after. She made a point to get to know people and become friends with everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Derek Crosley Case; and her brother, Marty Lynn Milam.
Paula is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Tommy Joyner; sisters, Bonnie Jean Hunter, and Sheree Milam Towles (Carlton); stepmother, Geneva Brown Milam; stepchildren, Stacey Joyner Billups (Jay) and Shane Thomas Joyner (Chong); three step-grandchildren; friend and caregiver, Debra Sasser; three nieces; three nephews; and several cousins.
