It is with great sadness that I share the passing of Paul Eugene Verneuille, 81, of Ridgeland, MS. Paul passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Paul was born in New Orleans, LA to Paul L. and Eugenia N. Verneuille. He attended East Jefferson High School, where he met the love of his life, Rosa McGovern. Paul loved cars, cooking, and woodworking.

Paul spent his life serving people, whether selling cars for Benson Motors, cooking at Arnaud's Restaurant in the French Quarter, or in his restaurant, Zea's Deli in Harahan, LA. He loved being creative in the kitchen and teaching others the art of cooking. He spent his last years helping in the kitchen at the Madison Methodist Church, where he was lovingly called Chef Paul.

Paul took great pride in his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosa Verneuille, and his three children, Paul Bradley (Colleen) Verneuille, Kim Renee Verneuille, and Brian James (Jennifer) Verneuille. He also loved spending time with his four wonderful grandchildren, Brittany (Tony Windham) Verneuille, Paul Zachary Verneuille, James Nathaniel Verneuille, and Elizabeth Eugenia Verneuille, and great-grandchildren Glori Rose and Weiland Windham Verneuille.

To honor Paul's memory, a service will be held at the Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood, MS, on Friday, March 7, 2025. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m., with the service at 11:00 a.m. After the service, the family will hold a luncheon at the Madison Methodist Church in Madison, MS. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Paul's name.
