Orma Ullrich and Joe Lee met while he was stationed a Fort Niagra during WWII and worked in her dad's Youngstown, NY orchards at her family home called Glenn-Gary. Joe would tell of how he picked a peach of a girl. That girl was working as a switchboard telephone operator the day Pearl Harbor was bombed and described how every connection plug suddenly leaped out at once. Additionally, she worked as an aircraft inspector, business form proofreader and later, operated the family grocery store.
After the couple married they moved to Jackson Tennessee starting a wholesale candy route featuring Jackson Cookie Company cookies. Success of this endeavor led to the couple moving to Jackson MS, where their wholesale Candy and Cookie business introduced Jackson Cookie products to the Mississippi market. After raising a family, they purchased what they called "the Farm" at Terry, near Wynndale, where they raised grass fed cattle, happy chickens, and kept a large organic garden. Being the diligent homemaker she was, Orma preserved and cooked it all and many have shared in the fruitful bounty.
