Oliver E. Barnett, Jr., 77, died Friday, February 12, 2016 at River Oaks Hospital. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday and beginning at 1:00 pm followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm on Monday all at Wright and Ferguson funeral home in Clinton. Burial will be in the Edwards Cemetery.

Mr. Barnett was born in Edwards and educated in the Edwards schools. He has lived in Raymond for the past 50 years. He was retired from the Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg where he worked for 30 years as auto mechanic and supervisor over the motor pool and transportation department. After retirement he stayed active with over 15 years of maintaining yards in the Raymond area. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and pulling pranks.

Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver E., Sr. and Nell Butts Barnett; his brother, Ricky Barnett; his great grandson; Oliver Michael Barnett; and his son in law, Tim Loper. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bertha Lynn Barnett; his daughter, Lisa Loper; three sons, Eddie (Susan), Michael (Sharon) and Robert (Stephanie) Barnett; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
