Nellie Ivorine Leonberger born April 9, 1926 in Campbell, Missouri resided in Florence for 49 years. At age 98 she passed into the arms of Jesus at home on January 31, 2025.

Nellie was married to Billy Roy Leonberger in 1946 and they had five children. Nellie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to work in the yard and kept a spotless home. Her wish was to be able to keep her independence and remain in her home until the Lord called her home. With the help of family and friends she was able to do so. Nellie is rejoicing now as she is in her heavenly home with her loved ones.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Bernettie Ladyman; husband of 45 years, Billy Roy Leonberger; daughters, Linda Henderson and Debra Martin; son, Larry Leonberger; grandson, Jeff Tisdale; brothers, Floyd David Ladyman and Sonnie Ladyman; and sister, Kathleen Wagster.

She is survived by two sons, Billy Leonberger (Mary) of Florence, MS and Jimmy Leonberger (Ora) of Ocean Springs, MS; sister, Bonnie Sue Gross of Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Lakewood South Cemetery, 430 McCluer Rd, Jackson, MS 39212.
