Neal was called into Heaven on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. He was a good and kind daddy, son, brother, and friend. Neal dedicated his life to his Lord and Savior by answering the call to serve his son Nathan as well as his church family at Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton, MS. Neal showed the Lord's love to all he knew and was well beloved by many in return.
Neal was always the gentle giant in the room. He would match every smile he met and could set anyone to laughing - if they were quick enough to catch on to his dry wit. His humorous spirit made him a relatable director of his son's group of RA's. Neal also shared a love of baseball with Nathan and coached his youth baseball team whenever he could. Back in his heyday, Neal was a great catcher. His ease and efficiency of motion gave him a unique play style that you couldn't help but to enjoy watching. There are not many who can say they ever stole second with Neal Johnson behind the plate.
Neal will be remembered by his son, Nathan, who has his nose and his love for the Lord. Neal will be greeted in Heaven by his father, Harvey Johnson, paternal grandparents, Luther and Ruby Johnson, and maternal grandparents Joseph and Ida Mae Nabors. Neal's mother, Jo Ann Nabors Johnson, will carry him with her in her heart. Neal was the fourth of five siblings, Ralph Johnson (Babs), Jan Thornton (Randy), Kenneth Johnson (Brandie), and Travis Johnson, who already miss him dearly. Neal's spirit will also be carried on by his nephews, James Daniels (Rainey), William Daniels (Katie), Samuel Johnson (Elizabeth), Lance Johnson, and Mason Johnson as well as his great-niece and great-nephew, Violet Daniels and Rett Daniels. He will also be remembered by his special friend, Paige Hawkins.
Memorials can be made to the Paul Njuguna Fund for Motor Scooters through Parkway Baptist Church.
