Monica Lynn
Thomas
August 7, 1972 – May 29, 2022
Monica Lynn Thomas, an amazing woman from central Mississippi, 49, passed away in Warren County Mississippi on Sunday, May 29 th , 2022.
Monica was born August 7 th , 1972 in Birmingham, Alabama.
She moved to Brandon, Mississippi as a little girl in 1983 from Memphis, TN. She graduated from Brandon High School in 1991. While attending Brandon High School, she was a member of the band, playing the clarinet, and she finished her band experience in the flag core.
She loved capturing moments and always had a camera in her hand. There wasn't a memory she didn't capture. Cooking was also a favorite of hers. Cooking a feast for friends and family to gather around was a deep joy to her. A few more of her favorites were country music, dancing, and singing karaoke. She was very neat and tidy, sweet and kind, compassionate, funny and energetic. Monica was a one of a kind mother. She lived for her kids. As her children were growing up she was a dance mom, a cheerleading mom and a baseball mom. The cheerleading mom description fits her best because she was always her children's number one cheerleader. Monica was also a grandmother. She went by "Nana". Over the last decade it was no secret that her greatest joy was inside of her grandchildren. She was a professional at making friends with others. Many of her friends describe her with a glow, one that skips instead of walks and was always one that would live her life to the fullest, no matter what.
Monica was preceded in death by her brother William Keith Thomas of Atlanta, GA; Grandparents, Mitchell E. Hill (Grandpa Hill) and Willie Lee Hill (Grandma Hill) of Warrior, AL.
She is survived by her three children Patrick (Amber) Barnes of Orange Beach, AL, Alexis Barnes of Orange Beach, AL, Baleigh (Aaron) Lewis of Pearl, MS; her seven grandchildren Noah, Charleigh, Easton and Reed Barnes (Patrick) ; Dallas, Ace and Randi Lynn Lewis (Baleigh); her parents Bill "Red" and Martha Thomas of Gardendale, AL.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS with visitation beginning at 12 noon.
Monica Lynn let her light shine, she will forever be missed but never forgotten.
