Obituary

Mona Elardo Yelton, a long-time resident of Clinton, passed away Monday the 19th of February at Hospice Ministries after a fierce battle with cancer. A visitation will be held to honor her memory and celebrate her life on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 10:30am to 12 Noon at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS.
Mona was born on January 23, 1937 in Midnight, MS to Charles E. and Nina H. Elardo. Mona married Billy Yelton in August of 1961 and spent 56 years happily married to him. She knew she had the best husband ever. Mona also held a special love for the Delta where she grew up and especially loved time in the mountains. She and Billy spent many years of retirement together enjoying traveling to the mountains watching the change of color every fall. Prior to retiring Mona worked 30 years for Miller Transporters as an office manager in the maintenance department. Those who know Mona remember her quick wit and zeal for life.
Mona is survived by her loving husband William "Billy" R. Yelton; sisters Charlene Elardo Ducrest of Clinton and Rose Elardo Seguin and her husband Billy Seguin of Caswell Beach, NC. She is also survived by her nieces Georgette Lloyd, Kim Stockton, Tiffany Johannes, Leslie Smith and Angie Ball and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Mona may be made to Hospice Ministries 450 Towne Center Blvd, Ridgeland, MS 39157 and the American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Ln, Jackson, MS 39213.
