Mickey King Bearden, 98, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Brandon, MS. Visitation for Mickey will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Wright and Ferguson in Raymond from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday at 2:00pm at Raymond Baptist Church with visitation starting at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Raymond City Cemetery.
Mickey was born on February 22, 1921 to John and Essie King of Hattiesburg, MS. She graduated from the University of Southern Miss in the field of Music with a Major in Violin. She taught in the Hinds County School District at Oak Forest Elementary School as a First Grade Teacher. In 2005 she was selected as an Ageless Hero in Central Region in the field of Creativity, a Program sponsored by BCBS with Mrs. Pat Fordice as spokeswoman. Mickey was also an original founding member of the Ragger-Roo Comedy Washtube Band.

She is survived by her sons Michael Bearden (linda) of Hot Springs, AR and Bill Bearden (Cissy) of Pelahatchie, MS; granddaughter Shelley Thompson (Andy); great granddaughters Justice McDill (Garrett) and Brooke Renfroe; sister Jeanne Backstrom and niece Christina Morse.
