September 12, 1944 – June 26, 2022
Mrs. Melba Jean Dollar Lichte, (77), went to be with her Lord on June 26, 2022, at St. Catherine's Village, Madison.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 2:30pm – 4:00pm, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood, with services immediately following in the funeral home chapel. There will be a private graveside service.
Melba's family will remember her as "the world's greatest Grammy", a woman who was strong in her faith in Christ, and a woman who encouraged her children to find the joy and laughter in life. She loved spending time with her daughters and granddaughter and was known throughout the family for making the absolute best cornbread dressing ever. Melba loved gardening and crafting and was infamous for claiming anything could be saved with a little fresh paint. She was a devoted employee of Jackson Anesthesia Associates/Jackson Pain Clinic for 34 years and lived her calling to be there to serve others. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Brandon.
She is survived by her two daughters, Angela (Jules) Perret of Florence and Kimberly (Sudha) Madakasira of Brandon; granddaughter, Amisha Madakasira; brothers Johnny Kendall (Sandra) Dollar of Brandon and Wayne (Anita) Dollar; and sister Karen Kay (Ralph) Alford of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Allen L Lichte, her mother Beatrice Yates Rhodes, her father John Milton Dollar, and two brothers, James Stanley Dollar and Robert Earl Dollar.
