Obituary

Melanie Ann Sykes Cook, also known as "Honey", 56, was born on October 8, 1962 to Calvin and Bell Sykes in Jackson, Mississippi. She was the wife of Ronnie Cook for 34 years. Her family has been members of Parkway Church since 2005.

She had a previous battle with cancer 23 years ago and God healed her body long enough for her to see her children grown with spouses and children of their own. A few of her favorite things were her grandchildren, gardening, her yard, Dr. Pepper, banana popsicles, Donald Trump, and Chick-Fil-A.
She gained her angel wings on May 28, 2019 at 2:43 pm, while surrounded by those she loved. It was the most beautiful experience to see one giant tear roll down her face and watch her smile while walking into the hands of Jesus. It was truly a miracle and something we will never forget. The peace of God will rest with us until we meet her again.
She is survived by her Husband : Ronnie Cook Sr.; Children : Jennifer & Daniel Prince, Ashley & Gabriel Pierce, Ronnie & Brittany Cook; Parents: Calvin & Bell Sykes; Five Grand children : Paris Jade, Madison & Nicholas Cook, Rowan Pierce and Sutter Prince; Sibling : Russell & Cindy Sykes. She was preceded in death by both sets of her Grandparents: Everett & Ruth Sykes and David & Annie Lou Peden.
