Mary Glyn Powell Harkness, age 89, passed away on 3/27/2024 in Jackson, Mississippi.  Mary is survived by her Daughter, Kathy Harkness Johns (Jimmy), her Son, Kevin Harkness (Rachel), her Grandchildren, Lindsey Powell, Kelly Krazit (Andy), Katie Rachid (Omar), Blake Leone (Bobby), and her Great Grandchildren, Louden Krazit and McCoy Krazit.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Lynn Harkness, of Ecru, Mississippi, her Parents, Melvin and Effie Powell of Pontotoc, Mississippi, and her Brother, James Powell, of Pontotoc, Mississippi.

Mary was born on June 21, 1934, in Algoma, Mississippi, to Parents Melvin and Effie Powell.  She graduated from Algoma High School in Algoma, Mississippi.

She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend.  She and Lynn had a loving marriage of sixty years.

Louise Williams and Mary Walker lovingly cared for our Mom since the passing of our Dad.  We greatly appreciate everything they have done for our Mother and Family.

A funeral is scheduled for 2:00pm on Monday, April 1st at the Chapel of First Baptist Church, Jackson, Mississippi.  Tom Washburn will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary's life.
