Mary Frances Kelly, 93, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 8 at 11 a.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Learned.
Mary Frances was born on August 12, 1927, in Raymond, Mississippi, to Lucille and Harvey Smith. She graduated from Hinds High School. She worked as a secretary to the president at Merchants & Planters Bank and later as a secretary at a local attorney's office. After her retirement, Mary Frances enjoyed traveling all over the U.S., Canada and Europe. She was a member of the Lebanon Home and Garden Club and the Good Sam Camping Club.
Mary Frances was the epitome of a Southern lady: charming, graceful, welcoming and kind – the type of person others enjoyed being around. She was a devoted wife; a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; and a friend to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Robert Kelly, and son, Robert H. "Bobby" Kelly.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances Dickie (Andy) of Madison; grandchildren Patrick Patterson (Bonnie), Kelly McGuffee (Kevin), Lacy Kelly and Chris Kelly; great-grandchildren Mary Hayden Patterson, Natalie Patterson, Jack Patterson, Reese McGuffee, Laney McGuffee and Adalyn Kelly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
