Mary "Bibbie" Blount

Mary “Bibbie” Blount, 93, passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. She was born in Jackson, MS on September 16, 1932, to Oliver T. Gary and Thelma D. Wall Gary. She was the youngest of the three siblings.

Mary attended Byram High School where she graduated in 1950. She went on to one year of college and played semi-pro basketball after college.

Mary worked at Deposit Guaranty Bank for years where she held many clerical and office management positions. She was a very hard worker and held two or three jobs at a time to provide for her family and retired from Health Care Suppliers.

Mary loved her family and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was truly loved and will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Blount; her children’s father, Francis “Frank” Finch; her daughter, Christi Stewart and her husband Jimmy Stewart; her sister, Dorothy Drake Fuller; her brother, O.T. “T-bone” Gary, Jr.; and her great grandchild, Chloe Lipsey.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Kent (Randy), her grandchildren, Rachael Hall, Tyler Ivy (Kathy), Harley Ivy, Erin Lipsey (David), Christopher Stewart and Noah Stewart; and her great children, Damion Roberson, Lexy Ivy, Oliver Ivy and Everly Ivy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, MS. Visitation will begin at 12 noon before the service.
