Marwood "Woody" Nance, Sr., age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2016, in hospice care at home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Dollie Nance. He is survived by his wife, Jenny Nance; his sons, Woody, Jr. (Melanie); Bill; Scott (Cindi); daughter, Jennifer Nance; his grandchildren, Kerri Nance Utroska (Curtis); Dusty Nance (Nicole); Cole Nance; and Anna Scott Nance; five great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Woody was born on January 1, 1937, in Neshoba County where he spent his childhood and graduated from Bond High School in 1956. He worked in the automobile parts industry over 40 years, retiring from Herrin Gear Chevrolet in 1998. He was a founding member of the Rebel B.A.S.S. Club and member of First United Methodist Church of Clinton. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Neshoba County Fair-goer enjoying time spent with his family and grandchildren. Woody was rich in love with family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at First United Methodist Church from 5-7 p.m. with an hour visitation held before the service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 also at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Woody's memory be made to your local Alzheimer's Association, First United Methodist Church of Clinton, Mississippi, or to a favorite charity.
