Obituary

Marvis Miller "Jack" Stinson, Jr. 80, died peacefully at home on August 21, 2021.

Jack was born in New Orleans in 1941 to Marvis "Jack" Miller Stinson and Catherine Lanza.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Louis and Stephen Stinson.

Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judith "Judy" Kay Rushing Stinson. Two children, daughter, Lisa Lester (Dean) of Madison, MS and son, Marvis Miller "Mark" Stinson, III of Hattiesburg, MS. Two grandchildren, Leah and Dean Lester. Jack would say his loving family included his nieces Shannon Stinson Pannell (Matt) and their two children (Madelyn and Matt) of California and Shawn Stinson Hanger (Chris) and their daughter (Jasmine) of the UK. Tara Hayes (Keys) of Brandon, MS and their children Katie Hayes Kennedy and Trey Vann (Angie).

Jack positively influenced so many lives, served as a deacon and long-time member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ, volunteered at Stewpot Community Services, and retired from Steel Services, Inc.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 28th at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood from 1:30-2:30 followed by his Celebration of Life at 2:30.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in support of Stewpot Community Services.
