Martha Ann McIntyre Lawson
Martha Ann McIntyre Lawson, 83, passed away in Pensacola, FL, on October 23, 2026, after a battle with dementia.
Martha was born on September 30, 1943, in Columbus, OH, and grew up in Auburn, AL. She graduated from Auburn High School and soon after married Stanton “Stan” Wendell Lawson, her husband of 62 years. They initially resided in Huntsville, AL, before settling in Raymond, MS.
Hardworking and independent, Martha owned and operated Chris Florist, a successful business that reflected her business acumen, resourcefulness and drive. She worked long hours, often spending evenings at Home Interior parties after a day at the florist. She also enjoyed her home, collecting a myriad of items to display inside and throughout her yard.
Martha loved animals and often took in strays, giving them care and a safe place to stay. Outgoing and friendly, she enjoyed meeting people, striking up conversations, and making friends wherever she went. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Sherwood and Martha McIntyre. She is survived by her twin brothers, Sherwood (Marilyn) McIntyre, Jr., and Robin (Marietta) McIntyre; her children, Stanton “Sonny” (Jon Ann) Lawson, Michelle (John) Polyviou, and Cheri (Dave) Frederick; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, MS, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Raymond Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at Alzheimer's Association to support the fight against dementia.
