Martha Miller
Johnson
December 27, 1938 – April 9, 2025
"It is more blessed to give than to receive." -Acts 20:35
Martha Miller Johnson died peacefully and was called home to be with her Lord Jesus on April 9, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on December 27, 1938, and grew up in Koscuicko, MS with her parents and three younger siblings; met her husband Harold and helped raise her family in Jackson, MS, where she also worked for and retired from BellSouth; and prior to her death, was a long-time resident of Utica, MS, where she was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church for 30 years. Martha truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive, as her generosity knew no bounds. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who lived a life of servanthood to those she loved.
She enjoyed a lifestyle of botanical hobbies, reading, and spending time outdoors; all of which would find her barefoot and in the company of any one of her many well-loved pet cats!
Preceding in joining the Lord are Martha's parents: Warren and Alma Miller and her brother: Johnny Miller.
She is survived by her husband: Harold Johnson, sons: Lee and Rex Johnson, her sister-in-law Lavenia Miller (Johnny's wife), sister Lucy Gumm, and "baby bother" Carey Miller (wife Rita), granddaughters: Ivory and Alex, great-granddaughters: Briana, Kyla, and Miller, and great-great grandchildren: Kyren and Alila, as well as countless other family members and friends.
