Marshall Allen McGarity, 67, passed away peacefully at his home on November 19, 2019 with his family around him. He was born on November 29, 1951 in Itta Bena, MS and grew up in Flora, MS.
He was a member of Lula Baptist Church. Allen was devoted to his family and always made sure they were taken care of. One of his favorite things was to spend time with his grandkids riding around the yard on the lawnmower or taking them shopping to buy a new dress. He spent most of his employment years with Jackson Bolt and Screw and Delphi Packard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering with cars and lawnmowers and working in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Earl McGarity and Ida Juanita McGarity and his son, Michael Allen McGarity.
Allen is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sissy Lungren McGarity, daughters Samantha Nicole McGarity and Brittany Claire McGarity and grandchildren Lydia Lee McGarity, Eva Nicole Holmes, Jada Nevaeh Holmes and Aria Kinslee-Marie Harper. He is also survived by his sisters Brenda Stack of Clinton, MS , Wanda Ward of Grenada, MS and Judy (Richard) Sullivan of Chattanooga, TN along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 21 from 5-7pm at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, in Clinton, MS.
A Graveside service will be held Friday, November 22 at 2:00 at Flora Cemetery in Flora, MS.
