Marsha Hughes Chastain, 68, of Flora, MS passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at St Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was born 12/26/1955 in Jackson, MS to Al and Edith Hughes.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Flora Baptist Church from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, with funeral services to follow at 2: pm in the Church.  Burial will follow in Flora City Cemetery.  Rev. John Daniels will officiate with Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of arrangements.

Marsha grew up in Jackson, MS, and graduated from Wingfield High School.  She and her husband, John Chastain, have been married for 48 years.  She worked as clerk for the city of Madison Police Department and court services starting on November 6, 1990 until June 6, 2008, and for the Madison County Justice Court system from August of 2008, retiring around August of 2016.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who were the light of her life.  She also enjoyed producing arts and crafts for church and community projects.  She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Flora.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Edith Hughes; and brother Mike Hughes.

She is survived by her husband, John Chastain; sons, Taylor Chastain (Halee) and Mason Chastain (Tammy); step-sons, Clay Chastain (Mila) and Michael Chastain (Michelle); grandchildren, Kinsley, Brayden, Tristan, Easton, Mackenzie, Jacob, Joshua, and Jordan; brothers, Terrell Hughes (Pam) and Larry Hughes; and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Chastain, Michael Chastain, Clay Chastain, Mason Chastain, Bart Hughes, and Brayden Chastain.
