Margaret Ewilda Trenor Fancher, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 30, 2022. Ewilda is preceded in death by her husband James Parkes Fancher, son James Neil and grandchild Melinda.

She is survived by her sons Robert T. Fancher (Julie) of Portland, OR and Frank Fancher (Kimi) of Madison, MS; daughter in law Terry and grandchildren Madelyn, Parkes, reeves and J.C.

Ewilda was born on August 22, 1928 to Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Trenor, Sr. She graduated from Louisville High School, then she went on to receive a BA from Mississippi College, MRE from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Masters from The Mississippi University for Women.

Ewilda had a passion for serving and educating the world around her. She went on mission trips to the Philippines, Guam, Japan, Taiwan, Paraguay, Argentina, Honduras, Zimbabwe, California and Nevada. She served at all levels of the WMU offices, including serving as state WMU president from 1984- 1989. She also served on the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board, Mississippi Baptist Education commission, the National WMU Board and Many others. Ewilda also had a love for writing, she wrote weekly columns for the Baptist Record, Clarion-Ledger and the Northside sun. She also published two books for Broadman Press and one for the Recreation Department of the Sunday School Board. Ewilda helped begin love, Peace and Joy Quilters at First Baptist Church Florence and as of July 2022, they have made 3,500 Quilts that have been donated to various hospitals and Shelters.

Visitation for Ewilda will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood, MS on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and on Tuesday from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a service at 11:00am. A private burial will be held in Louisville, MS.
