Margaret Holliday
Greenfield
October 21, 1933 – October 13, 2025
Margaret Anne (Holliday) Greenfield passed comfortably in her home on October 13, 2025. She was 91 years old, and was surrounded by loving family and friends in Raymond, Mississippi. Born in 1933 as the youngest daughter, Margaret was the last member of her immediate family to pass. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Greenfield, mother Emma Taylor, father Dewitt (Preacher) Holliday, and sisters Lorene, Susie, and Sarah (Sally). She is survived by her children Scott, Kathy, Debra, and Melissa, and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Margaret spent her youth in Raymond, and cherished time spent with her father on their farm and riding horses with her sisters. Shortly after receiving her associate degree from Hinds Community College, Margaret moved to San Francisco where she eventually met her late husband Bob. There, she raised their family, worked as an administrator for government offices, made invaluable friends and memories, and became a huge San Francisco sports fan. She was always a pillar of her community and home, from sewing clothes for her family to leading Girl Scout troops and teaching Sunday School classes.
Upon retiring in Raymond in 1998, Margaret became very involved in her Sunday school class and greater community at the First Baptist Church of Raymond. Margaret "Anne" was clever, fair, resilient, hard-working, generous, quick-witted, and fun—and you could always count on her to speak her mind. She loved many things: God, her husband Bob, her family, friends, flowers, reading, sewing, dancing, the ocean, traveling, and so much more her heart could barely fit it all. Margaret possessed an earnest gratitude and zest for life that radiated through her presence and stories, and she will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
There will be a service held for Margaret at the First Baptist Church of Raymond on Saturday, October 18 at 11am.
