Dr. Margaret Carmean, 89, of Clinton, passed away peacefully Friday, July 15, 2022 at Brookdale Retirement Home.

Dr. Carmean had a lifelong career in teaching, both in public education and as a professor at Mississippi College. She specialized and had a keen interest in gifted and special education children.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Irma Kendrick of Palestine, Texas; and her husband, Jack B. Carmean.

She is survived by her brother, Gilbert Kendrick (Joyce); sons, Bob Carmean (Carol) of Clinton and Allan Carmean (Pam) of Clinton; grandchildren, Dustin Carmean (Sara), Jordan Carmean (Erin), Hannah Carmean, Megan Carmean and Landon Carmean (Jessica); great grandchildren, Emerson, Madox, Sawyer, Ava, Lawson and Graham.

There will be a graveside service July 30, 2022 in Giddings, Texas where she will be buried next to her husband, Jack.
