Mae "Mae Mae" Perkins Gemmell, age 73, passed away peacefully on December 29th, 2023, in Jackson, MS.  Mae was a graduate of Canton High School, MS (Class of 1968) and attended Memphis State University.  She worked in management positions in various medical offices, including large cardiology groups in both Jackson, MS and Orlando, FL.  The last fourteen years of her career, she worked in project management at WGK engineering firm located in Clinton, MS.  Mae spent most of her adult life in MS but also lived in VA, TN, FL and even a few years on a boat cruising the Gulf and Caribbean.

Mae is preceded in death by her son, John Clayton "Clay" Gemmell; and sister, Janie Perkins Lee, (Jim Lee).  She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Gemmell; sisters, Ann Perkins Smith, (Burton) Peggy Shows, (Scott) and Bobbie Lynn Perkins.  She is also survived by her granddaughter, Addison Page Gemmell; her loving nephews and extended family and friends.

Mae was a member of the Pinelake Baptist Church. She was a protector at heart and loved her family and pets fiercely.  She was a loyal friend, enjoyed listening to music and loved to boogie on the dance floor.  Per her wishes, her ashes will be spread by close family and friends in celebration of her life and the many memories she's left with all of us.
