Valentine Macie Phillips went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, surrounded by her family.  Born in Newton, Mississippi on February 14, 1951 to the late Coties W. Clark and Tressie M. Clark.

Macie was the oldest of five children and grew up in the West Jackson area.  She married her sweetheart Phil Phillips and for a few years, they lived in Jackson until Phil joined the Air Force in 1968 which moved them to Altus, Oklahoma.  While in Altus they welcomed their first child, Lisa Michele.  After four years of service, they moved back to Mississippi where they established residency in Clinton and their second child, Jason, was born in September of 1976.

Macie started her 30-year career in retail at D.H. Holmes as a Sales Associate in the shoe department.  She worked for D.H. Holmes, Dillard's, McRae's, and Belk as a Sales Manager before retiring in 2013.  During retirement, she took up her mom's love for sewing, enjoyed vacationing in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, and spent time in Memphis watching her granddaughters dance and cheer.

Macie is survived by her husband of 57 years, Phil J. Phillips III, a daughter, Lisa M. Phillips, a son, Jason B. Phillips (Kelcie); brothers David Clark, Curtis Clark (Barbara), Kenneth Clark (Rhonda) and sister Dorothy Vance; two granddaughters McKinley Phillips and Annie Phillips.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi for visitation at 9:30 am with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 am.
