Mable Lofton Odeneal, 90 passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Sunday September 3rd, 2017. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 12 pm with services following at 12 pm on Friday September 8, 2017. Services will be held at Pinehaven Presbyterian Church at 2001 Pinehaven Road in Clinton. Mable Lofton Odeneal was born on January 10th, 1927 in Wisner, Louisiana. After graduation she moved to Jackson where she met her future husband John Odeneal. They were married in June of 1946 until his death in 1980. Mable and John co-owned Quick Stop and Quick Gas in Clinton. After selling the Quick Stop, she became a bookkeeper until her retirement. She was a charter member, taught the women's Sunday school class, and was a leader in the women's department at Mt. Salus Presbyterian Church. She later became a member of Pinehaven Presbyterian Church. She was known for her positive spirit and attitude towards life. She will be remembered for her resilience and strong Christian values. She was preceded in death by her parents Tollie Martin Lofton and Bertha Lang Byrd, her husband John Robert Odeneal, her sisters Eda Curry, Juanita Smith and Jewell Ezell, and her brother Lanny Lofton. She is survived by one sister Laura Cotton, her children Judy Fortenberry, Bobby (Alyce) Odeneal, Dotti (Tom) Simpson. Her grandchildren Doug (Jodie) Fortenberry, Scott (Candiss) Fortenberry, and Amanda and Trey Simpson. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
