On October 15, 2018, Lottie Elizabeth Brunt Herrin, 83, passed away surrounded by loved ones after a battle with Alzheimer's and cancer. A memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Clinton, MS on February 23, 2019 at 11:00am.
Lottie was born on May 23, 1935 in Marks, Mississippi to H.Q. "Kitty" Brunt and Thelma Brunt Lowe. After completing high school, she began working for Sears, Roebuck and Company in Greenville, Mississippi, and served them faithfully for more than 39 years. She was honored many times throughout her career for her unwavering contribution to the Sears. She was loved and respected by those with whom she worked and supervised. After moving to Clinton, Mississippi in 1994, she began working for SAKS Fifth Avenue as a Sales Auditor who exhibited a never-ending willingness to help her customers, retiring after eighteen years of service.
Lottie loved Jesus, and on a daily basis, His name was never far from her lips. She also loved to dance, and would never miss an opportunity to do so when ABBA played "Dancing Queen," even once pulling her car full of grandchildren over to the side of the road when the song came on the radio so they could get out and dance. She is greatly missed, but is now rejoicing and dancing in the arms of her Savior.
Lottie is survived by her daughters Greta Heru of Memphis, Tennessee and Kathy Christian (Hugh) of Clinton, Mississippi, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Josh Christian (Jamie) of Madison, Lauren Christian Taylor (Virgil) of Clinton, and Mary Kathryn Christian Rainey (Jeremy) of Clinton. She also leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Claire Christian; and Savanna, Shelby Kathryn, and Jacob Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Norman Herrin.
