Lorraine Whatley Nelson's Obituary
Lorraine Whatley Nelson, 94 passed away on June 2, 2016 at Brandon Rehab Nursing Center in Brandon, Ms. Visitation will be at 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday, June 4, 2016 with Service following at 11:00am at Wright and Ferguson Funeral home in Raymond, MS. Interment will follow at Raymond Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 Years Donald Gray Nelson Sr., her daughter Deborah Ruth "Debbie" and grandsons Clifford Scott "Scottie", James Lamar.
She is survived by son Clifford L. "Cliff" (Kathy) and son Donald Gray Jr. "Don", eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Affectionately known as Granny, G.G. and Great Granny. She was a consummate cook, enjoyed teaching, sharing recipes with everyone and collected cookbooks and recipes from around the country.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Hinds Community College Scholarship Program.
