Linda Joyce Turbeville Hodges, 77, died of pulmonary nocardiosis on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Community Place hospice in Brandon, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 400 Grants Ferry Road, Brandon, Mississippi.
Mrs. Hodges was born on September 20, 1946, in Vaiden, Mississippi, to George W. and Mattie Turbeville, Sr. She attended Vaiden High School and Holmes Community College. She worked for many years in the reception area of medical offices in Grenada, Cordova TN, and Jackson. She enjoyed working in her yard, home decorating, and spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, including the Ways and Means Sunday School group, and the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) Chapter G.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Phillip D. Hodges, sons Darryl W. Hodges and Scott A. Hodges (Cheri), granddaughters Megan Hodges Barlow (Stephen) and Brooke Hodges Smith (Jonathan), great grandsons Haddon Smith and Nolan Smith, and great granddaughter Holly Barlow.
She was predeceased by parents George W. and Mattie Lee Turbeville, Sr., brother George W. Turbeville, Jr. (Miriam), sisters Jean Turbeville McClain (Arthur) and Eloise Turbeville Gerrish (James), and an infant daughter.
Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association Mississippi Chapter.
