Mr. Lewis Edwin Snyder (Les), age 65, of Florence, Ms, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2018, while surrounded by his family.
Les was born to parents Edwin and Marianne Snyder on July 13, 1952, in Ocean Springs, Ms. During his high school years Les moved to Jackson, Ms with his parents and siblings and graduated from Provine High School. Shortly thereafter Les served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Les was a welder by trade. Over the years Les has taught the welding program at Hinds Community College, and also worked at Welch and Ogletree, Hughes Aircraft, and Mason and Overstreet.
Les is survived by his sisters, Betsy Turner (Steve), and Mina Pond (Walt), brother John Snyder (Anne), daughters Jennifer Aycox (Michael), Katherine Tanner (Craig), two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Les is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Marianne.
A private memorial service for family and friends will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2018. The family is grateful for all prayers and condolences. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
