Obituary

Leslie (Lewis) Chiles (52) transitioned to her heavenly home on September 19, 2015. Leslie was a devoted mother and wife. Her Christian faith served as a testimony to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years of marriage, James (Jimmy) Chiles III, her precious daughters, Jamie and Haley Chiles, her parents, Herbert and Mickey Lewis (Clinton), Sisters Lori Lewis, (Groton, MA), Lynn (Ed) Porter, (Clinton), brother-in-law, Larry (Nancy) Chiles,(Clarksdale, MS), sister-in-law Jan (David) Franks (Tupelo), nephews Jonah (April) McCreary,(Watertown, MA), Mike McCreary, (Groton, MA), Mary Carol (Stevie) Moore,(Oxford, MS), Jessica Chiles, (Clarksdale, MS), Michael (Blair) Porter, (Clinton, MS) and Holly (Brenton) Lewis (Brandon, MS). Great nephews - Cooper Jaxon Porter (Clinton) and Gavin Daniel Lowe McCreary, (Watertown, MA) great niece - Abby Moore (Oxford, MS).

After graduating from MSU, she worked at Trustmark National Bank. While at MSU, she served as President of Butler Hall and on the Inner Council of Student Housing. She also enjoyed intermural sports and was part of several championship teams. During her career at Trustmark she received numerous accolades from customers and Trustmark. After her career at Trustmark, her focus was on her two daughters, Jamie and Haley. She was a loving mother who was always attended Jamie's soccer and softball games and as well as listening to and encouraging Haley's singing talent. She loved all her nieces and nephews and supported them with her encouraging words. Most importantly she testified her faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and instilled it in her family as well as anyone she came in contact with. She claimed 2 Timothy 3:16 as her scripture, "All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." She was an active member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton and loved her Sunday School Class (Bill and Wanda Saint Sing).

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Wright & Ferguson in Clinton from 5-8 p.m. with a celebration of Leslie's life on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton beginning at 11 a.m. There will also be a time of visitation at the church beginning at 10:15 a.m. Leslie requested that her celebration of life be filled with bright colors and happy smiles.
