Leo Albert McNamara, 70, passed away on May 18, 2018 in Jackson, MS surrounded by his family. Visitation for Leo will be held at First Baptist Church of Flora, MS on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 starting at 1:00 pm with a service following at 3:00 pm.
Leo was born in Denver, CO on January 4, 1948 to Leo and Ada Mae McNamara. Later he met and married Candace June Schabilion and they spent 35 wonderful years together. Leo was a big fan of music especially the true rock and roll from the 50s and 60s. He also was an avid coin collector but his true joy in life was spending time with his family particularly his grandkids. Leo and Candace owned and operated MS Petrified Forest, Gem & Lapidary Wholesalers and Gem Publications all of Flora, MS.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents Leo Albert McNamara Sr. and Ada Mae Hawkins McNamara.
He is survived by his wife Candace, son John R. McNamara (Sherie), daughters Felicia Crigler (Brian) and Deborah Shoemaker (Doug), sister Shirley Fox of Denver, CO, nephew Michael Fox and 7 grandchildren Jonathan McNamara, Logan McNamara, Austin Shoemaker, Jessica Shoemaker, Alysa Crigler, Jon Chase Shoemaker and April Dunlap.
Because of Leo's time spent in the United States Air Force in lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
