Larry Grayson Newell, age 75, of Flowood passed away at his home on Tuesday February 4th, 2020.

Mr. Newell was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on March 14, 1944, to Marion Monroe and Ladell Smith Newell. He graduated from Central High School and attended Hinds Community college. He served in the Army National Guard and retired from JL Roberts Mechanical Contracting, LLC in December 2015. Mr. Newell had recently returned to work with JL Roberts making deliveries to job sites.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Alvin Newell, and sister-in-law, Kathryn Boyd Newell.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley McCain Newell; son Kerry Newell and his wife, Jodee, of Canton, GA; daughters, Kelli Dyer and her husband, Mike, of Atlanta, GA; and Brannon Murray and her husband, Dan, of Solon, OH, and six grandchildren: Bailey, Taylor, Grayson, Tyler, Ruby and Margo; and a sister, Ilene Krohn, of Raymond, MS.

He is also survived by step-son, Nicholas Graham, and his children, Riley and Cannon, along with his wife's two children, Lisa McCain Odom (Brooks) of Brentwood, TN; and William Michael McCain (Missy) of Edwards, MS; and her grandchildren, McCain Odom Lillard (Adam) and Brooks Odom Jr.

A memorial service will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood, MS on February 8th, 2020, at 2:30 p.m., with visitation at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson, MS, with private graveside service.
