It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Phillip Hughes on 4/15/2025. He was born to Albert and Edith Hughes on 10/22/1953. Larry graduated from Wingfield High School in 1972. He worked at Packard Electric/Delphi in Clinton, MS for 30 years where he met his wife, Kathy Poss Hughes.

Larry was a man of many passions—he found joy in fishing, painting, traveling, and spending time in nature. Above all, he was a devoted follower of Jesus, and a proud father and grandfather.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Michael Hughes, and sister Marsha Chastain. He is survived by his son Dustin Hughes, daughter Kelsey Hanson (Chris), grandson Liam Hanson, brother Terrell Hughes (Pam), and his numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Larry's wishes, no formal services will be held. A private memorial gathering for close family and friends will be arranged at a later date to celebrate his life and legacy.
