Lanelle McClellan Banks, age 77, went to meet her Lord and Savior on January 11, 2022.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Banks, of Brandon, MS; her son Key and wife Malana of Madison; daughter Kendra Oakley and husband Sean, of Brandon; grandchildren, Sara Jordan, Carson, Mia and Sam; great-grandson Bennett; and siblings Delores Hill, Charlotte Roberts, and Robert McClellan.

Lanelle was born on January 2, 1945 in Pascagoula, MS to parents William Clarence "Mac" McClellan and Mary Lee Costilow McClellan. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1963 and eventually became owner/ director of Creative Arts Day Care, where she carried out her life's work of loving, nurturing and educating children. After retiring from the day care business, she continued to care for all of her treasured grandchildren, and passed on to them a love for Christ. She had an infectious smile, and was a special gift to all who knew her.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held at Wright & Ferguson Funeral home in Flowood, MS on Saturday, January 15th from 2-4 p.m.
