Obituary

Lacy Earl Sholar of Clinton, MS, died peacefully at UMMC on June 28 th , 2022 at the age of 74. A devoted husband to Lynda Kay Boswell, father to Matthew Brock, Erin Elizabeth and Andrew Todd, and son of Barbara Fowler Sholar and Lacy Hopson Sholar. Raised in Hopkinsville, KY with his sister Karen Sholar Rogers, Lacy developed lifelong friendships, a terrific sense of humor, and a love of basketball. Lacy played collegiately at Austin Peay University after graduating from Christian County High School and went on to serve nine years in the Army National Guard in Kentucky and Mississippi.

Lacy and Lynda raised their children in Clinton, MS, where he was a faithful believer and led his family to worship at Morrison Heights Baptist Church for the past 35 years. Lacy prioritized family and maintaining his childhood and college friendships. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan and enjoyed all things SEC. He loved supporting his children and their activities, from sports to Show choir. Lacy's legacy revolves around the three things he held most dear: faith, family, and friendships. He will be remembered as a kind, funny man, who never met a stranger.
