Obituary

Karen Lynn Prestage (Strother), 51, of Pearl, gained eternal heavenly life after a three year battle with cancer. Karen left this earth on August 4, 2020 from her home with her children and husband at her side.
Karen was born January 17, 1969 to Nelda Ann Strother (Lange) and Tommy Lee Strother in New Orleans, Louisiana, but was raised in Richland, Mississippi until her marriage to Mike Prestage where they lived and raised their family in Pearl. She has two siblings, John Strother and Connie Bridges (Strother) both of Richland.
Karen graduated from Richland High School in 1987 and began a strong and successful career at Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance, where she would eventually meet her mother-in-law, Alice Prestage (Frith). Karen enjoyed insurance and excelled in her career becoming an underwriting partner of Owens Insurance in Clinton, MS with her long-time friend and mentor, Sam Owens.
When not working, Karen loved doing home improvement projects, decorating her home (and the homes of others) and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her grandkids (Brentley, Kara, Anna-Kate, and Landon) more than life, and went above and beyond to show them love every chance possible. She had recently discovered the beauty of the mountains, and enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, spending time camping, and riding on their boat and jet skis. She also loved flea markets and shopping and spending time with her best friend Kathy Satterwhite.
Karen was loved by so many and touched so many lives while she was here on earth. She is survived by her spouse, Mike Prestage of Pearl, her son, Timothy "Tim" (Victoria) May, her daughter, Allison (Austin) Crosswhite of Pearl, her mother, Nelda Strother (Lange), siblings, her grandchildren, and her in-love family Alice (Frith) and Aubrey Prestage of Pearl as well as the rest of her nieces, nephews, in-law families, cousins, and friends. Karen is preceded in death by her father, Tommy Lee Strother who greeted her at the Heavenly gates with a huge smile and a "Hollywood! C'mere baby girl!"
