Obituary

Judy Dell McIntyre Byrd, a beloved resident of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 5:15 PM. She was born on December 25, 1938, in Chester, Mississippi, and spent much of her life bringing love, warmth, and joy to everyone around her.

Judy was a dedicated employee of Kroger in Flowood, Mississippi, where she worked for many years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Anguilla, MS, where she found strength and community in her faith.

Judy was known for her love of sewing, quilting, and cross-stitching. She cherished her family deeply and treasured every visit she had with them. She was also the local softball team's pitcher and known for her competitive spirit, no matter what game she was playing Rummy, Rook, and Dominoes were her favorites.

Her warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Debbie Byrd and grandson Christian Bobo.

She is survived by her loving children: Danny Byrd (Jena Haley Byrd), Laura Byrd Lee (Doug Lee), Flora Byrd Thomas, Jeffrey Dayton Byrd (Susan Cable Byrd), Michael Ray Byrd (Lisa Blocker Byrd). Judy was a proud grandmother to 21 grandchildren: Nikki Boyd, Carly Boyd, Drew Boyd, Melanie Tinsley (Jay Tinsley), Breanna Bobo, Tyler Reaves (Anna Hill Reaves), Jason Reaves, Cameron McClain, Danielle Laing (Chad Laing), Rebecca Woodward (Grant Woodward), Natasha Entner (Carl Entner), Victor Thomas, Deanna Jackson (Dillon Jackson), Heidi Byrd, Christopher Brackett, Lee Harris, Elizabeth Laney (Erik Laney), Meagan Smith, Ian Smith, and Elizabeth Loyd (Kimbel Loyd).

Her legacy also continues through 19 great-grandchildren: Piper Keyes, Wade Keyes, Connor Laing, Chase Laing, Alessa Royce, Adriel Royce, Amelia Reaves, Christian Reaves, Wyatt Woodward, Harrison Woodward, Sydney Entner, Mae Jackson, Gaven Jackson, William Brackett, Joseph Laney, Lukas Laney, Evelyn Smith, John Lawson Domino, Amelia Domino.

Visitation for Mrs. Byrd will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Flowood on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10:00am to 12:00pm followed by a service at 12:00pm. A graveside service will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
