With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joyce Whitehead Williamson, our loving and devoted Nenaw, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to all whose lives she touched. On December 23, 2021, she passed away while sleeping peacefully at her home surrounded by family in Raymond, Mississippi at the age of 77. She was born September 20, 1944 to Ezra Leroy Whitehead and Cammie Byrd Whitehead in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Joyce was a beloved wife to her husband of 58 years, Joel Williamson; beloved mother to Jesica Kennedy (Fred) and Jeana Banes (Jackie); Proud Nenaw to Crystal Klar (Patrick), Jody Bell (Casey), Mallory Israel, Joel Kennedy, Collin Smith (Lizzie), Garrett Kennedy, and Bryson Banes; Great-Nenaw to Aubrey Newton, CJ Isreal, Eli Klar, Kennedy Klar, Markin Klar, Anna Grace Bell, Markin Bell II, Cohen Klar, Paisley Smith, Waylon Smith, Sutton Bell, Greyson Bell, and Kyler Smith; loving sister to Joanne Keller. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Leroy, Billy Ray, and W.C. Whitehead, and grandson Markin Bell.

Through her brother Billy Ray, she met her loving husband Joel Williamson, who only had eyes for no other since that fateful day. Married in Vicksburg on November 1, 1963. They moved to Jackson shortly after where they spent many years together raising their two girls and working side by side in their family business Poppa's Used Cars. Joyce found work at Sam's Club as personnel manager and worked there for years, in which led her to working at Walmart as personnel manager of 30 plus years where she retired in 2015.

She lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, Nenaw, sister, mentor, and dedicated employee. She loved to read, sew anything and everything for her grandchildren, cook for her family, and travel with her family. Most of all, her heart was in being with her family whom she loved dearly. She instilled good values in her children and grandchildren that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, 201 Hinds Blvd, Raymond, MS. 39154 on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 1:00pm following visitation from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Terry Cemetery.
