Joy Jean Hoatland, 79, of Raymond, died on Friday, August 21, 2015, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2015, from 3-6 pm at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond, MS. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015, at 11:00 am in the chapel at Wright and Ferguson with a visitation one hour prior to service. A graveside will be held after the service at Raymond Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoatland was born on August 20, 1936, in Carrollton, MS. She was the daughter of the late Henry Noah and the late Catherine Carpenter Noah.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Ward Lancaster.

She is survived by her husband, J.W. Hoatland; her daughters, Lorna Ruth Owens of Brandon, MS and Karen (Kay Kay) and special friend Paul Dever of Byram, MS; her brothers, Charles Noah of McCarley, MS and Carl Noah of Vaiden, MS; her sisters, Francis Palmertree of Greenwood, MS, Bernice Sheppard of Lake Village, AR and Nancy Murrah of Clinton, MS; and three grandsons, Jeremy Wade Holloway, John Owen Dever and Brian Dever.
