John Dee Perkins, Sr. was born on October 8, 1934 and passed away on March 19, 2022. He is best known as a family man who served his country and retired from the United States Air Force as a decorated EOD man and then later retired from the United States Postal Service. Many things can be said about him as a Veteran and one who serves his country but none better than the man he was as a Christian and a family man. He was a member of First Baptist Church Raymond and loved his Sunday School Class. He was a master wood working craftsman. He was a Jack of All Trades, if it was broke he could fix it and if it needed building he could build it. He was a perfectionistic and guiding role-model. You looked forward to his smile and sense of humor but, most of all, his hugs and gentle nature.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife of 67 years, Freddie Sue Perkins, three children: John Dee Perkins, Jr, "Johnny" wife, Suzanne; Tina Reeves, husband Billy; Tom Perkins and wife Lisa. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: John Dee Perkins, III, "Dee" and his wife Ashley; Bret Reeves Heiser, husband Brian; and Charlie Martin Perkins; four great grands, Addison Claire and Conner Perkins, Harlow and Henry Heiser; he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William DeWitt Perkins, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Perkins; and brother, William DeWitt Perkins, Jr.

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Raymond. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. If you are not able to join us in person, please join us in prayer to celebrate the life of John Dee Perkins, Sr. who will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
