Obituary

John Lindsay Noble, Jr (90) passed away in Brentwood, TN July 18, 2015. Mr. Noble spent the majority of his life in Edwards, MS where he and his father built a hardware business, J.L. Noble and Son, that was a mainstay in the town of Edwards for 50 years. Mr. Noble attended Mississippi State prior to joining the NAVY and serving in World War II. He attended Midshipman's school at Notre Dame and Mississippi College. At the age of 19, he married Ruby Jeanette (Blue) Logue of Vicksburg. The couple shared 71 years of marriage prior to his death.
After retiring, Lindsay and Blue enjoyed many years of full time motor homing all over the country. They were members of several motor home clubs and made life-long friends from all areas. Lindsay was a lover of history and enjoyed sharing stories with all that he met. One of his greatest joys was sharing family history with his grandsons and passing down the stories of his family and community. He was a member of the Bulldog Club and an avid Mississippi State fan. He was particularly proud to see the Bulldogs reach the status of Number 1 in the nation this past football season. He was a lifelong member of the Edwards Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder Emeritus.
His greatest joy was his family. He was preceded in death by his father, J.L. Noble, Sr. and mother, Corinne Cannada Noble and his son, Ronnie Noble. He is survived by his wife, "Blue " Noble, son, Rip Noble (and Pam) of Surgoinsville, TN, daughter-in-law, Lindsey Noble, of Edwards, daughters Rinne Hensley (and Dana) of Brentwood, TN and Robyn Noble of Franklin, TN. Surviving grandchildren include J Noble, Brady Noble, Erin McMullin, Sonny Noble, Andrew Noble, Evan Hensley and Cameron Hensley. He is also survived by 10 great grand-children.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Edwards Presbyterian Children or the Palmer Home for Children in Columbus.
