John Wesley Dixon's Obituary
John Wesley Dixon, 81, died Sunday, July 12, 2015. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Wright and Ferguson in Raymond on Wednesday and funeral services will begin at 3:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Raymond Cemetery.
Born in Georgia, Mr. Dixon worked in the paper industry with St. Regis and Georgia Pacific. He was a gentle, kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He never met a stranger and he was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elnor Virginia Copeland Dixon; three children, Sherry Polk and her husband Buell; John Dixon, Jr. and his wife Christie; and David Dixon; seven grandchildren, Tapp Von Hoene, Wesley Von Hoene, Casey Dixon, Corey Dixon, Tripp Dixon, Taylor Dixon and Karlea Dixon.
The family would like to express special thanks to Hospice Ministries and his caregiver Billy and to Raymond Baptist Church and Bro. Mark Strum.
