John Duncan Carmichael, Jr., an account executive with Certified Labs and a resident of Brandon, MS passed away December 10, 2020 at the age of 76 after a brief illness.

John is survived by his wife Emmie; children, Jean Pace, Ginny Young (Robert) and J.D. Carmichael III (Lisa); grandchildren, Brent Pace, Lauren Young Moore (Michael), Andrew Pace (Marissa), Garland Carmichael, Casey Carmichael and Rebecca Young; and his great grandson, Mitchell Moore. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Morrison; sister-in-law, Robbie Carmichael; and his brother-in-law Frank E. Dement III (Maxine). He loved his nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews, and his cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Helen Carmichael; his brother, Malcolm Carmichael and grandson, Trey Young.
John was born in Brigham City, Utah on March 10, 1944. He graduated from Murrah High School in 1962 and attended The University of Mississippi. He married his wife of 56 years, Emmie, on July 23, 1964.
John was a devoted family man, a true fan of the Ole Miss Rebels and an avid golfer. His favorite place was Live Oaks Golf Course, playing golf and hanging out with his friends. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He loved his friends and doing for others. The customers he had during his 37 years at Certified Labs were more like his friends than clients. He was fondly known in his neighborhood as the "Mayor of Bay Park". He will be missed deeply by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18 at The Reed House at Live Oaks Golf Course. The Reverend Jon McCoy will officiate.
